An EgyptAir flight traveling from Paris to Cairo went down in the Mediterranean Sea yesterday with 66 passengers aboard. The flight has now been located, just roughly 33 hours after its mysterious disappearance yesterday.
Egyptian and U.S. officials investigating the scene yesterday found debris that were initially thought to be from the flight, although it has now been confirmed the initial debris found were unrelated to the crash.
Reports this morning have confirmed that passenger belongings and additional debris were found in the water today, over 190 miles from the nearby city of Alexandria. The remains of a possible passenger were found along with the debris.
Family members of the 66 passengers are gathered at the airport, awaiting any updates on the status of the crash and their loved ones. Egyptian and Russian officials have speculated the plane was brought down by terrorists, however investigations into the pilots, passengers, and flight technicalities are still being explored.
