So much for liberals opposing fat-shaming: Trump attacked for his weight

For months, the American press and left-wing celebrities have been questioning the President’s fitness for office.  They have previously limited their attacks to his mental health.  Most notably, MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski once said that “He’s such a narcissist, it’s possible that he is mentally ill in a way.”  Now, some people have begun to make the argument that the President is physically unfit for office.

In a Politico article published on Tuesday, Ben Strauss criticized President Trump’s diet and argued that he is the least physically fit and athletic American President in modern times. Needless to say, the Trump-hating mainstream media was thrilled with the contents of this article.

Strauss was invited to participate in an MSNBC panel to discuss the topic of a physically unfit Trump. Chris Jansing, the moderator of the panel, suggested that the President’s lifestyle choices might be “in keeping with the personality that is about a lack of discipline.”

While it is certainly legitimate to question the health of any public official, there seems to be a double standard about fitness criticism.

Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s health took a nosedive when she collapsed at a 9/11 commemoration event. Members of the media questioned her fitness, in the wake of her health scare, but left-wing media outlets such as Vox denounced these questions as sexist. The Huffington Post actually revoked David Seaman’s publishing access, effectively terminating him, because he dared to raise questions about Hillary’s health.

The two articles Seaman wrote on the topic were taken down from the website. Those hoping to peruse these articles are greeted with an editor’s note reading, “This post is no longer available on the Huffington Post.” Originally published in late August of last year, prior to the incident at the 9/11 memorial service, Seaman was vindicated publicly, but not by his employer.

TV personality Dr. Drew Pinsky may have suffered a similar fate, as his HLN show, “Dr. Drew on Call,” was cancelled last Fall. Many attribute this cancellation to his speculative comments about the health of 2016 Democratic Presidential nominee, which he made one month before the show’s final episode aired.

It appears as if media personalities who raise questions about Clinton’s health can expect to face the consequence of unemployment while those of the biased, mainstream media (MSM) will swoon over anyone who questions President Trump’s health.

The reason behind the double standard is simple: the MSM wanted to do everything in its power to help Hillary Clinton win the election. Now that she has lost, the media is doing everything it can to drive President Trump out of office.

For the resistance, the ends always justify the means. If raising questions about the President’s health convinces more people to sign on to the 25th Amendment scheme that has been introduced in the House of Representatives, then consider it mission accomplished. While it’s probably true that President Trump is not the most physically fit President in US History, the fact that the media is spending so much time on this story tells you everything you need to know about their not-so hidden agenda. Unfortunately, even if the Trump Presidency turns out to be a smashing success, the media will always remain #NeverTrump.
