Although his “30 Rock” character was a staunch conservative, actor Alec Baldwin is showing off his liberal stripes by alleging that former Bush advisor Karl Rove is behind the entire Internal Revenue Service scandal.
The progressive entertainer announced his fanatical claim via Twitter on Tuesday, where he purported that Rove merely cooked up the controversy just so his political non-profit, American Crossroads, could keep its 501(c)(4) status.
The IRS “scandal” is merely a Rovian pushback on C-4/C-3 regs. Now, there will be no regs. Which was the goal.

It must have slipped his mind at that moment that the IRS has already apologized for its wrongdoings, as it was caught red-handed holding up the applications and applying extra scrutiny to the filings of conservative organizations like Rove’s American Crossroads.
His claim is hardly a surprise, however. For years he has bashed Republicans, even calling the late conservative writer Andrew Breitbart a “a festering boil on the anus of public discourse” and jeered the GOP on Twitter during the months preceding the presidential election.
You wanna go back? To Bush? Cheney? Paulson? Rumsfeld?Unfunded wars? Death of US soldiers and innocent civilians for oil?

It doesn’t seem to faze him either that his younger brother Stephen is an outspoken Christian and co-hosts a conservative nationally syndicated radio show.
The eldest Baldwin also floated with the idea of running for Mayor of New York this year, but ultimately decided against it.
