Sunday Morning Fail: Hillary’s Laughter

Hillary Clinton once again has shown that her best interviews tend not to be on serious Sunday morning programs.

She sat down with Chuck Todd for Meet the Press Sunday morning, during which the controversy surrounding her e-mail server inevitably came up.

Hillary early on mentioned that “I wasn’t that focused on my email account to be clear here.”

She also defended herself in that “I think it’s also fair to say that, you know, there are some things about this that I just can’t control,” and that “I can’t control the technical aspects of it.”

In her mind, Hillary thinks “I have done all that I can to, you know, take responsibility, to be as transparent as possible.”

When Todd asked her about a discrepancy with her records, he also asked her to address “an alternative explanation that has sort of circulating.”

Hillary laughed it off and questioned if he meant “another conspiracy theory?”

Todd was not laughing however, and clarified that he was asking her to address whether or not she used a private server in order to make government subpoena and Freedom of Information Act requests more difficult to obtain.

She found that “totally ridiculous” and claimed “that never crossed her mind.”

When Todd asked her if she could “reassure Democrats that there’s nothing else here,” Hillary focused on how “there’s only so much that I can control.” She also can’t predict or control what Republicans have to say about the situation.

Hillary couldn’t even give proper assurances that the F.B.I. wouldn’t find anything warranting further explanation.

CHUCK TODD:

Can you say with 100% certainty that the deleted emails that the F.B.I.’s not going to find anything in there that’s going to cause you to have to explain again?

HILLARY CLINTON:

All I can tell you is that when my attorneys conducted this exhaustive process, I did not participate.

CHUCK TODD:

Why? Why?

HILLARY CLINTON:

I didn’t look at them.

CHUCK TODD:

I would want to know what emails.

HILLARY CLINTON:

No.

Hillary continued to address the matter by saying it is being handled by her attorneys.

These appearances are not the only ones Hillary has made. It does seem though that the Democratic front-runner is more comfortable when when talking about feminism with Lena Dunham or her late-night show skits or being lavished with praise by Ellen DeGeneres.
