It helps to speak up, just look at Carly Fiorina.

Last week the Republican presidential candidate expressed her feelings about the unfairness of CNN’s criteria for their upcoming GOP presidential debate. CNN announced Tuesday night that they will be amending the rules.

The statement explained their reasoning from May to focus on poll averages from July 16 to Sept. 10. Based on previous years, CNN believed there would be more polls released during the August-September time.

There is also an explanation of the new criteria:

As a result, we now believe we should adjust the criteria to ensure the next debate best reflects the most current state of the national race. In the event that any candidate is polling in the top 10 in an average of approved national polls released between August 7th and September 10th, we will add those candidates to our top tier debate, even if those candidates did not poll in the top 10 in an average of approved national polls between July 16th and September 10th.

Had CNN not amended their criteria, Fiorina would likely not qualify to participate in the top tier debate. Her lower poll numbers did not qualify her for Fox’s primetime debate on Aug. 6.

After her performance at the earlier debate that evening, however, Fiorina has improved in the polls. She is now expected to likely qualify.

Fiorina’s campaign manager, Sarah Isgur Flores, tweeted about the rule change. Her tweets had a similar tone to her written statement last week in which she called on the RNC to intervene.

In Iowa, only Donald Trump and Ben Carson poll ahead of Fiorina, according to a Monmouth poll released Monday. Trump and Carson, whom Fiorina thanked on Twitter, are tied.
