Guilt can be a powerful thing, and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg uses the emotional stories of the Sandy Hook massacre victims’ families to score political points with the gun control crowd.
Mayors Against Illegal Guns, proudly co-chaired by anti-gun advocate Bloomberg, has released an ad featuring family members of four Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims speaking about why they loved the victims.
Adam Lanza burst into Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., the morning of Dec. 14, killing 20 children and six adults with high-capacity magazine guns.
The 60 and 90-second versions of the advertisements feature Neil Heslin, father of first-grader Jesse Lewis; Chris and Lynn McDonnell, parents of first-grader Grace McDonnell; Gilles and Terri Rousseau, parents of teacher Lauren Rousseau; and Jillian Soto, sister of teacher Vicky Soto.
“December 14th started as a regular day,” Chris McDonnell said, and his wife Lynn added, “Our daughter Grace was seven years old. She couldn’t wait to go to school.”
“I want to prevent any other family from having to go through what we’re going through,” Chris McDonnell said seconds later.
Terri Rousseau said that her daughter Lauren “loved children, and she always wanted to be a teacher.”
“Connecticut can save lives,” finally appears on the screen, followed by, “Comprehensive Background Checks Limit High Capacity Magazines Assault Weapons Ban,” and “Demand Action. Now.”
This ad must be part of the $12 million of the $27 million Bloomberg said he has already spent on anti-gun ads in 10 states.
If his future anti-Second Amendment advertisements are similar to this one, then the billionaire nanny can expect many tears but little action.
