Washington lobbyist campaign “No More Red Ink” wants the House of Representatives to stop spending money the government don’t have.
Speaking on a CPAC 2012 entitled “End Borrowing,” the founder of the effort, Joseph Farah, informed attendees about the grassroots effort of World Net Daily television to get the House of Representatives to stop voting to raise the debt limit.
The No More Red Ink campaign asks Americans to sign up to send red letters to their representatives in Congress asking to the government to end spending until we’ve paid back our debt.
In the spring of 2011, 221 House members voted against raising the debt limit thanks to No More Red Ink’s efforts, however, only 22 members continue to vote against such legislation.
The weeks immediately following the 2012 election will be the most crucial time period for this issue because Congress will vote on a budget soon after a new president is elected. Farah said Ron Paul and former GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain would both follow-through on cutting the federal government
Judson Phillips of Tea Party Nation also came out in support of No More Red Ink.
“All I want for Christmas is no more red ink,” he said in reference to the federal budget.
