[WATCH] Gregory Brothers call out Clay Aiken as “invisible peeping Tom” in faux campaign attack ad

“Do you want an invisible peeping Tom representing you in Congress?” That’s what the Gregory Brothers are asking in their new fake campaign attack ad against Clay Aiken.

Last week, the American Idol runner-up from season two put to bed all speculation and announced his Congressional campaign in a video on YouTube. On Monday, the Gregory Brothers, best known for ‘songifying the news’ and creating YouTube hits such as the ‘Bed Intruder Song!!!,‘ took shots at the singer with an attack ad.

Like any good attack ad, the Gregory Brothers use Aiken’s own words against him — specifically lyrics from his 2003 single “Invisible.”

“If I was invisible, then I could just watch you in your room,” Aiken sang in the song.

Naturally, this led the Gregory Brothers to question whether or not Aiken — “an invisible peeping Tom” — can be trusted in Congress.

The obvious alternative? Ruben Studdard, who beat Aiken to win American Idol.

The current representative in North Carolina’s 2nd Congressional district, Republican Renee Ellmers, will have to fend of Aiken should he win his primary — but she doesn’t seem too worried. Ellmers joked about Aiken’s losing record during a radio interview at the end of January.

“Apparently his performing career is not going so well, and he’s very bored,” she said. “As we know, he didn’t really fare all that well. He was runner-up.”
