Donald Trump has won the support of future voters in another blue state. The Republican nominee edged out Hillary Clinton in a mock election conducted by 213 high schools across Minnesota.
Just a week after winning a statewide mock election in Maine, the billionaire captured 35 percent of the vote to Clinton’s 33 percent according to CBS Minnesota.
More than 77,000 students participated in the mock election. Traditionally third party candidates earned a third of the vote: the Legal Marijuana Now Party tied with the Libertarians at six percent, Jill Stein got four percent, Evan McMullin received two percent, and the Constitution Party earned just a single point. Write-in candidates received another nine percent.
Clinton’s support came from the traditionally liberal areas of Twin Cities, St. Cloud and Duluth.
Trump won the suburbs and rural areas of the state, including the most moderate or swing districts.
Just last week the Republican nominee prevailed in a similar statewide student mock election in Maine, besting Clinton 44 to 41 percent in the blue state.
If only these kids can get their parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and older cousins to vote.
