On The Laura Ingraham Show Wednesday, Republican National Committee chairman Reince Preibus told the radio host that 2016 is a “do or die moment” for the Republican Party and that without a White House win, chance of the party’s survival is slim.

“We don’t exist as a national party if we don’t win in 2016,” Priebus told Ingraham when asked how crucial the 2016 presidential election is to the fate of the Republican Party.

“You can’t compete 16 years out of the White House, it’s just not possible.”

The Daily Caller recalled the chairman’s previous comments about having a “terrible feeling” regarding what would happen to the party if 2016 went to the Democrats.

“If we don’t win in 2016, I have a terrible feeling the national party doesn’t exist in the same way that it is today,” Priebus said back in January.

All 2016 GOP candidate hopefuls, we’re looking at you. No pressure.
