Forget the pistols and wood shredders to destroy the Affordable Care Act, and the rifle to shoot down a drone. A Republican congressional hopeful has brought a cannon to the new “Republican Revolution,” and he’s not afraid to use it.
John Stone, a Republican running in Georgia’s 12th Congressional District, opened his newest campaign ad by firing a cannon — just like they did back in the Revolutionary War.
The congressional hopeful touts himself as the “only licensed firearms dealer in America running for Congress” and reminisces about the very cannons his forefathers used to “fight the British in Savannah and win us a Constitution.”
“I’m willing to do the same if we have to,” Stone tells the camera. “But it’s a whole lot easier to just vote in new House Republican leaders who will stand up to Obama and defend our Constitution.”
Stone, who ran against incumbent Rep. John Barrow (D) in 2008, faces a crowded primary on May 20.
But don’t mess with this guy. Remember, he’s got a cannon.
