The TSA can’t be satisfied with ruining your trip through the airport screening area—now they want to destroy Halloween, as well.
The TSA’s travel blog warns all costume enthusiasts not to get too into it this year, because “realistic” weapons will be seized:
If you plan on traveling with your costume this year, keep in mind that realistic replica items and props such as guns, scythes, pitch forks, chainsaws, butcher knives, grenades, axes, bombs, swords, machetes, and other realistic weapons are prohibited from being transported in your carry-on bags.
“Even if it’s a replica, anything resembling an explosive is treated as the real deal,” the warning continues.
So you can feel free to dress up, as long as none of your weapon-like props actually resemble anything.
