It’s a good thing CNN host Piers Morgan can’t vote in the United States.
This afternoon the talk show host took his support of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and his attempted soda ban a step further, suggesting on his twitter that the nanny city mayor would make a great U.S. President.
Michael Bloomberg – the greatest President that America never had.

The NYC mayor’s quest to force “portion control” on his constituents has not been met kindly by strong supporters of the free-market.
Morgan quickly followed up with a second tweet expressing shock at the fact that anyone would call Bloomberg out for trying to run their lives and tell them what they can and can’t consume.
Just extraordinary to me that people would mock a Mayor trying so hard to make his city safer and healthier. #Bloomberg #Guns #Soda

On Monday a New York court ruled that Bloomberg did not have the authority to mandate that the city’s businesses could no longer sell sugary drinks over 16 ounces. The judge indefinitely halted Bloomberg’s ban from taking effect.
Bloomberg has vowed to appeal the ruling, claiming that, “As a matter of fact, it would be irresponsible not to try to do everything we can to save lives.”
After Morgan’s first tweet this morning, conservatives referred to him as an “idiot” and asked him yet again to move back to England forever.
In response, Morgan doubled down on Bloomberg’s questionable claim that the soda ban is necessary to save lives with yet another absurd tweet.
The idea that banning teeth-rotting, diabetes-inducing supersized soda cups is an ‘assault on liberty’ is utter nonsense. It saves lives.

It seems that Morgan has totally given up on being taken seriously and has opted to being a full-time entertainer instead.
