Donald Trump is not one to mince words, so during a phone interview on Fox and Friends he didn’t hold back when one of the hosts brought up DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s recent flub when asked to explain the difference between a Democrat and a socialist.
“I think she is a terrible spokesperson. I watched that and I thought it was terrible. I thought her performance was terrible. I really think she is not a good spokesperson, for whoever she is representing” Trump said.
In an interview with Chris Matthews, Wasserman Schultz couldn’t explain the difference between her party and socialists, instead rerouting the question and giving her own answer: “The difference between — the real question is what’s the difference between being a Democrat and being a Republican.”
The confused DNC Chair was given a second chance to save her party’s name on NBC’s Meet the Press, but again — albeit more confidently this time — chose to redirect the question to the difference between Democrats and Republicans.
“Frankly, I hope she stays in that position assuming I get it — assuming I win [the presidency],” Trump said to Fox News. ”I just hope she stays in that position because she is so bad at representing the views of the Democrats. It’s absolutely incredible.”
