Carnival Corp. — under its “Fathom” brand — has been approved to launch cruises to Cuba, and the company is already selling tickets. Carnival secured approval of the route under the new exception to the Cuba embargo for “people-to-people” travel, and their announcement came during President Obama’s trip to Havana.
Carnival Corp. CEO Arnold Donald said on a media call that, “Today we’ve made history,” noting it’s the first cruise to be approved in more than 50 years.
