Ted Cruz gives perfect response to millennial’s Communist Manifesto prank

During a campaign rally in Indiana yesterday, GOP presidential candidate Ted Cruz received an unusual request: A young attendee asked if Cruz would autograph his “economic textbook.” Cruz was initially surprised by the request, but then willingly agreed. In an apparent attempt to prank the senator, the student then proceeded to hand Cruz a copy of The Communist Manifesto.

Immediately realizing that he was the intended victim of a prank, Ted Cruz had the perfect response for the student. Instead of refusing his signature, Cruz wrote “Millions have suffered because of this,” and signed his name underneath.

The son of Cuban dissidents who were tortured under the Castro regime, Sen. Cruz is well aware of the awful treatment that individuals endure living under communism. During his tenure as Solicitor General of Texas, Cruz stated that Harvard Law School employed more communist professors than Republican professors.

“There were fewer declared Republicans in the faculty when we were there than communists!” Cruz declared. “There was one Republican. But there were twelve who would say they were Marxists who believed in the communists overthrowing the United States government.”

The moral of this story: Don’t bother trying to fool Ted Cruz with your communist pranks. It’s much easier to prank Donald Trump into retweeting quotes from Mussolini, or signing a women’s chest at a rally.
