Actor and singer Justin Timberlake made his fifth appearance as host of ‘Saturday Night Live‘ this week, and what a show it was, as the writers pulled out all the stops and brought in a slew of big-name stars.
Timberlake’s opening monologue wasn’t a monologue at all, but a parade of former ‘SNL‘ hosts.
JT was inducted into the ‘Five Timers Club,’ an exclusive group for those who have hosted the show five times. He was joined in the club by the likes of Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, Tom Hanks, Alec Baldwin, Paul Simon and Candice Bergen. Actors Martin Short and Dan Aykroyd also had cameos.
But the star-studded cast list didn’t stop there.
In a skit called “It’s a Date,” Timberlake and the ‘SNL‘ actors were accompanied by former cast member Andy Samberg. Later in the evening, Timberlake was joined by rapper Jay-Z as he performed his latest hit song “Suit and Tie.”
JT’s fifth hosting visit was clearly an opportunity for the cast and crew of ‘SNL‘ to remind viewers just how awesome their show can be — and the entire package made for an episode for the ages.
They’ve still got it, folks.
