Fox News Channel host and political commentator Greta Van Susteren isn’t mincing words: President Barack Obama’s end-of-the-year press conference was so “depressing” it made you “want to slit your throat.”
Van Susteren was a panelist on This Week on Sunday. During the show, host George Stephanopoulos asked the group if 2013 was really Obama’s worst year in office, referencing a question POTUS had received at his year-end presser on Friday.
Van Susteren pointed out that the President’s “most powerful weapon” is his ability to inspire people.
“That’s his greatest strength,” she said.
But then Van Susteren hit Obama hard, noting that his end of the year press conference on Friday has lacked that characteristic inspiration.
“He was depressing, he was like, you know, pathetic,” she said of his performance. “He sucked the oxygen out of the room.”
She then backhandedly criticized the media for ‘beating up’ on the President and “punching him.” But she made it absolutely clear that Obama was mostly at fault.
“He ends the year where you just want to slit your throat almost because it was so depressing,” she closed. “And he’s completely lost his ability to inspire.”
