[WATCH] Chris Christie kills opponent with kindness in gubernatorial debate

New Jersey Chris Christie (R) killed his opponent during the first debate of the 2014 gubernatorial race … killed her with kindness that it.

Christie went head-to-head with state Sen. Barbara Buono (D-18) in the war of words Tuesday night. But when what started as a test of the candidates’ resolve and skills to serve as the state’s governor turned to offering kind words to one another, Christie schooled his opponent.

Debate moderator Kristine Johnson asked the candidates to say one thing they like about one another.

While Buono saw the question as a way to take a dig at Christie, admiring his talent on late-night television, Christie answered it honestly

“She’s obviously a good and caring mother,” Christie said. “And someone who cares deeply about public service in the state  because she’s  dedicated a lot of her life to it. And while we have policy disagreements, Kristine, I would never degrade her service.”

Way to keep it classy, Christie.
