Businessman Donald Trump has some savvy ideas to make America the superpower again, but many of those thoughts, such as recruiting educated European immigrants, are a bit far-fetched and nonsensical.
However, the billionaire, who was a last-minute add-on to the CPAC 2013 schedule, did not sound completely foolish during his remarks on Friday morning.
For instance, instead of allowing the 11-million illegal immigrants to remain in our country – all of whom he says will vote for Obama – we need to allow more American-educated Europeans who attend prestigious universities, like Harvard, to stay in this country after graduation and use what they learned rather than taking that knowledge back to Europe.
“I have many friends from Europe, people I know, tremendous people, hard-working people. They can’t come in,” Trump said. “Nobody wants to talk about this. Nobody wants to say this.”
Not allowing Europeans to work in this country is one issue, but the former presidential nominee could not help but harshly criticize President Obama and the White House administration, which garnered applause; although, he did not touch on politics too much.
It was widely reported last week that Trump offered to pay for White House tours for the next year. Actually, his “good friend” and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich announced via a tweet on March 8 that Trump should do that. When the $8 billion man (he couldn’t resist mentioning that) heard it, he was completely on board. After all, that’s only $936,000 out of his pocketbook. President Barack Obama crushed that offer very quickly.
Trump told a White House anecdote of when he saw a steak dinner held underneath what looked like a “rented tent” on the White House lawn in 2011. Due to this travesty, he called a friend in a “very high position” in the Obama administration and offered to build a magnificent $50-$100 million ballroom for future events.
Trump was thanked for the offer, but “we never heard from them,” he said.
While that was kind, the idea of adding onto the White House is just not appropriate due to the history of the establishment.
“We have to make America great again,” Trump said, on an ending note. “Our problems will be solved.”
Trump’s theoretical solutions to America’s problems are not completely crazy, but running the country is a bit more involved than building exclusive resorts for rich people.
