High profile Democrats, Sen. Dick Durbin(D – IL.) and Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) actively avoided answering questions about why the word “God” had been taken out of the 2012 Democratic Platform.
“Well, I can just basically tell you if the narrative that is being presented on your station and through your channel and your network is that the Democrats are godless people, they ought to know better,” Durbin lashed back at Fox News’ Brett Baier Tuesday evening. “God is not a franchise of the Republican Party.”
But he offered no explanation as to why the Democratic Party, which featured the word “God” in their 2008, 2004 and 2000 platforms, would suddenly omit any religious references.

Wasserman Schultz had even less to say on the subject- she wouldn’t even admit that it was a mistake in the platform. In an interview with Piers Morgan Tuesday night, she deflected by saying, “our values are reflected in our policies.”
Morgan countered and said “The thing is, somebody has deliberately taken out the word ‘God’ because it was in the last one.”
But DWS fired back, stating, “I can assure that that no one has deliberately taken God out of our platform,” and refused to say anything more.
Below is her heated exchange with Morgan.

The Democratic leaders’ flat out denial of this omission means that they are afraid to admit that they are uncomfortable mentioning the big guy upstairs, or are truly unafraid of being labeled the “Godless” party of the United States.
