Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) has been free from the barbs of fellow politicians during August recess, but he felt a sting from another source last week — a scorpion!
The Senator was back in his home state when the arachnid bit him on Wednesday. A spokeswoman confirmed to POLITICO that Flake’s left arm was somewhat numb, but ultimately called it “no big deal” since scorpion bites are fairly common in the desert.
The Senator tweeted about his scorpion run-in early on Thursday — including a photo of his combatant — prompting concern from some of his followers.
The perils of living in the desert. This guy stung me today. #scorpion. pic.twitter.com/4ClrkxT0YV
