After taking a break for more than three years, Charlie the Unicorn is back — and funnier than ever.
The ill-fated animal and his two goofy compadres have returned for their fourth installment. This time their adventures take them to the moon, where a giant, incredibly creepy millipede threatens the Cavern of the Red Wind. It’s up to Charlie to defeat the evil bug.
Poor Charlie — whose horn is taped back onto his head after being cut off and used as a snowman nose in the third video — again suffers at the hands…er…hooves of the other two unicorns, getting tasered and left on the moon with a ticking bomb. But not all hope is lost, thanks to an old ‘friend.’ And as an added bonus, the video’s closing line is a spot-on summary of 2012.
The first Charlie the Unicorn video, originally released on Newgrounds in 2005, has more than 80 million views between two copies on YouTube. The second and third videos have roughly 39 million and 26 million views, respectively. The new video, published three days after Christmas, has almost 2 million views already.
The video feels much like the final episode of Charlie the Unicorn, but it’s hard to tell. After all, creator Jason Steele of FilmCow.com kept us waiting for three years for this one. Who knows what will happen to the understandably cynical animal? We’ll just have to wait and see.
But until then, enjoy the latest edition of Charlie’s adventures.
