Chris Christie: Maybe Hillary Clinton wants increased voter fraud

Chris Christie jabbed back at Hillary Clinton for claiming last week that his actions as New Jersey governor have worked against voting rights.

“She doesn’t know what she’s talking about,” Christie said during an interview on CBS’ Face the Nation that aired Sunday. “In New Jersey, we have early voting available to people. I don’t want to expand it and increase the opportunities for fraud. Maybe that’s what Mrs. Clinton wants to do, I don’t know.”

During a speech on voting rights at Texas Southern University last Thursday, Clinton criticized Republican presidential candidates for “fear-mongering about a phantom epidemic of election fraud.”

The Democratic presidential candidate specifically hit Gov. Christie for refusing to expand early voting in New Jersey.

“The fact is that folks in New Jersey have plenty of an opportunity to vote and maybe if she took some questions some places and learned some things, maybe she wouldn’t make such ridiculous statements,” Christie responded Sunday, taking a shot at Clinton for her avoidance of the press.

“She’s never been to New Jersey, I guess,” he quipped.

Christie, who has yet to officially announce a 2016 bid for the White House, admitted that he will ultimately need to answer the question, “Do I want to do it?”

The New Jersey Republican expects to make the final decision this month.
