This cruise ship made ‘Seven Nation Army’ cool again

The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army” was once the catchiest pop song on the planet, but after becoming a hackneyed staple at sporting events, it’s become somewhat tiresome. Proof that it’s still timeless, though: a cruise ship.

And not the people on a cruise ship, spontaneously busting out the melody in unison and caught on camera, or something. The MSC Magnifica, floating through the port of Hamburg, Germany, this weekend on the port’s 825th anniversary, tooted its horns to the tune, delighting onlookers onshore.

Note: the ship was not bound for Wichita.

The Magnifica is a 95,000-ton beast with a crew in excess of 1,000. It played its melodic role in the Hamburg Port Anniversary, billed as the largest celebration of its kind in the entire world. The festival concluded Sunday.
