This afternoon Crossroads Generation, a conservative Super PAC that targets young voters, released what will likely go down as the best political video of the general election.
In a spoof of the hit “Dollar Shaved Club” YouTube video, the group uses the “Dollar Saved Club” to tell young Americans why they should support Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney’s economic policies.
“And are Mitt Romney’s economic polices any good? No, they’re f**king GREAT!” says “Dan,” a member of the Dollar Saved Club and the star of the video, before busting through a paper door.
Dan proceeds to walk around a paper factory and explain Romney’s “plan to get America back on track,” including his plan to get government out of small businesses. He also pokes fun at the GOP candidate’s
delightful singing voice.
And a Dollar Shaved Club spoof wouldn’t be complete without a creepy guy in a bear costume and a train scene.
“Josh, what are you doing under President Obama,” Dan, now sitting in a wagon wearing a conductor hat, asks a random kid (who is also in a conductor hat) sitting in front of him in the wagon.
“Not working,” Josh replies.
“And what would you be doing with Romney as President?”
“Working.”
“I’m no jobs czar, but this is what ‘forward’ really looks like,” Dan expounds.
If you haven’t seen the original Dollar Shaved Club video, watch it first. Without the context of the viral video Crossroads Gen’s parody isn’t nearly hilarious.
