Sarah Palin: Congressional Republicans have ‘deflated balls’

Sarah Palin, unlike Joe Biden, doesn’t prefer soft balls.

The former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate spoke to The Blaze at the 2015 SHOT Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, Thursday about the new Republican Congress and found a way to relate the GOP to the New England Patriots’ “deflate gate” controversy.

“I’m not going to talk politics except to say the GOP had better go on offense,” said Palin, who appeared at the event to promote her show “Amazing America,” which is in its second season. “Man, they are not going to win any game on defense. Being in the majority there in D.C. — we’re blowing it if we just bend our back.”

“That GOP leadership, that establishment, they’ve got to get their stuff together,” she continued. “I love what they believe in, I believe in it too. But they’ve got to get tough, man. You know what? It’s not just the New England Patriots who are dealing with deflated balls right now.”

Palin is certainly not the first politician to weigh in on the reports that the Patriots used under-inflated balls during Sunday’s game. Vice President Joe Biden also commented Wednesday on the saga, admitting that he — a former football player — “like[s] a softer ball.”

Palin appears to be quite keen on examining the “balls” of congressional Republicans. Last year, when the former governor urged the GOP to impeach President Obama, she speculated whether or not Republicans had the “cojones” to do so.
