Americans officially cannot stand their government more than ever. In fact, there is only one industry they hate worse –internet service providers.

A report released Tuesday by the American Customer Satisfaction Index found that Americans are more dissatisfied with the federal government and the services it provides than ever before.

The average industry rating in the report is 75 percent satisfaction, but the government as a whole received just a 64 percent approval rating.

When asked what they specifically didn’t like about the government, those surveyed primarily cited issues with staff and customer service.

No department within the federal government scored above the national average either. The Treasury Department, which includes the IRS, was the most hated, followed closed by Veterans Affairs and the Health and Human Services Department.

The highest ranking government department was the Defense Department, which had a 73 percent approval rating.

Internet service providers were the only industry that ranked worse that the government, a ranking that doesn’t bode well for President Obama’s proposal for government expansion into the internet business.

The only thing worse than Comcast might be a federally-funded version of it.
