James Carville Ignores Dem Senate Inaction on Budget, Claims Obama Faces a “Do-Nothing” Congress

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee sent out a fundraising email this morning that contained an odd oversight: It claimed that President Obama has been burdened with dealing with two years of a “Dudley-do-nothing Tea Party Congress” but blatantly ignored that it is the Democratic-led Senate that has failed to pass a budget in 1,233 days.

The email’s author was none other than Clinton advisor James Carville, and in typical Carville fashion, the email contained wild claims and quirky statements characteristic of “the Ragin’ Cajun.”

After an introduction reminiscent of casual friends sipping champagne on November 6 in the wake of a purported Obama reelection victory, Carville writes, “The last thing President Obama needs is another two years of this Dudley-do-Nothing Tea Party Congress blocking him every step of the way.”

He then makes a plea for supporters to donate $3 or whatever they can to help “win a Democratic House for Obama.”

While Carville accurately recognizes that a Democratic House would provide Obama the security needed to ram through arbitrary legislation in a lame duck second term, he glaringly ignores the more than three years Senate Democrats have had to pass a much-needed budget. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has ignored one of his most important duties in serving the American people and effectively sat on his hands for more than 1,200 days.

“C’mon, now!” is Carville’s email closing to supporters, aimed to urge them to fork over cash to help the president secure a Democratic House of Representatives.

Mr. Carville, that spicy Louisiana gumbo might have gone straight to your head because the hypocrisy in your email is enough to make anyone who has paid attention to the party in power for the past three years, pretty hot.

C’mon now!
