Catwoman comes out as bisexual in DC Comics book series

Catwoman likes felines of both genders.

In the most recent issue of DC Comics’ “Catwoman” book series, the main character Selina Kyle comes out as a bisexual, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Catwoman’s sexuality is revealed when she kisses another female character name Eiko in “Catwoman No. 39,” which came out this week.

Genevieve Valentine, who penned the latest issue of the series, explained her decision in a blog post Thursday.

She labeled establishing Catwoman’s bisexuality one of the “emotional beats” she set out to accomplish in the new book.

“She’s flirted around it — often quite literally — for years now; for me, this wasn’t a revelation so much as a confirmation,” wrote Valentine.

Apparently, fans have gossiped for years about Selina Kyle’s sexuality.

However, those on team Batman shouldn’t rule out his relationship with Catwoman, according to Valentine.

“While I don’t want to spoil what can’t yet be spoiled, please be assured that Selina’s longstanding connection to Batman has not been forgotten; that is not how bisexuality (or humanity) works,” Valentine continued. “Selina doesn’t care easily, but when she does care it strikes deep, and there will be plenty of that coming up.”

Perhaps this new development will be addressed in the sequel to the 2004 film “Catwoman” that stars Halle Berry. Or not, considering that movie was terrible and likely hasn’t warranted a sequel.

Nevertheless, Anne Hathaway might have to alter her character in the next “Batman.”
