Ted Cruz may not like avocados or Obamacare, but he sure does a mean Jay Leno impression.
The Texas senator amused attendees at the American Legislative Exchange Council’s 2013 State and Nation Policy Summit with his best parody of the late-night comedian, specifically focusing on bits Leno said related to President Barack Obama’s broken “If you like your plan” promise.
“So, uh…the other day, President Obama called me. He said, ‘Jay, if you like your job, you can keep it’,” Cruz said to rounds of laughter.
Cruz, who is rumored to be considering a 2016 presidential bid, called Leno’s monologues “a sign of how things are penetrating the public conscience.”
