Well, this is certainly un-American.
Former “American Idol” loser Clay Aiken spoke to Howard Stern on the radio host’s SiriusXM show Monday morning, discussing his failed congressional campaign last year and calling his victorious Republican opponent a “b—h” and an “idiot,” as reports The Hill.
Aiken gave the interview to Stern’s radio program specifically to promote his documentary series “The Runner Up” about his failed campaign that is currently airing on the Esquire Network.
“You should see the second episode, because she’s a b—-,” Aiken said of Rep. Renee Ellmers (R-N.C.), who beat the Democrat in November’s midterm election to retain her House seat representing the state’s 2nd congressional district.
“She’s an idiot,” Aiken continued. “And I think her self-esteem is just in the floor, under the floor.”
“I’m not a fan of the person I ran against in Congress, obviously,” he later added, reportedly referring to Ellmers with a derogatory slang term used against women.
Unsurprisingly, a spokesperson for Ellmers swung back at Aiken’s comments.
“Mr. Aiken’s crude language and disrespectful demeanor towards the congresswoman has proven to the American people why he is a runner up,” spokeswoman Blair Ellis told The Hill in a statement.
The isn’t the first instance of Aiken’s bad language post-campaign. The former crooner told the Huffington Post in an interview earlier this month that he called the “cynicism” surrounding his bid for Congress “What the F–k Mountain.”
Despite the clear hurdle presented by his potty mouth, Aiken still maintains that he will run for office again.
“Probably before six years,” he told Howard Stern of a future political bid. “You know, within the next decade, I will again.”
