The Mitt Romney bus will roll into New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, Iowa and Michigan starting June 15, in an effort to reach out to small business owners and families.
The five-day bus tour, called “Believe in America: Every Town Counts,” will focus mainly on the small towns of these states, many of which will be key swing states in November´s election.
The bus will begin in New Hampshire on June 15 and will spend about a day in each state, winding up in Michigan on June 19.
According to the press release, Romney will use this bus tour as a large part of his argument that Barack Obama has paid no attention to the needs and cares of small town Americans and has, “left American families to bear the burden of his failed policies.” Romney plans to reinforce the line that America´s small towns hold the hope for the future with their, “boundless optimism,” and that a Romney presidency will be one that offers hope for the future.
This added effort shows that the Romney campaign clearly sees that Romney has yet to win the full support of many voters in these key areas, which comes as no surprise after Romney was only narrowly able to win Ohio and Michigan in the primaries earlier this year, despite his mid-western background.
Winning votes in these states will also be a main component of the Obama campaign, but there has been no news yet of what the current President has planned in order to give himself a shot at turning these swing states in his favor.
