The United Nation’s Human Rights Council has been an international laughing stock for years, providing a platform to tyrannical nations including China, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Egypt, and Cuba to voice their opposition to the U.S. and Israel.

Well, President Trump has had enough and is expected to signal on Tuesday that the U.S. may withdraw from the U.N. Human Rights Council unless they remove their “anti-Israel bias,” reported Reuters on Monday.

U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley said that she will make the formal decision on whether or not to withdraw after a three-week long meeting in Geneva.

“When the council passes more than 70 resolutions against Israel, a country with a strong human rights record, and just seven resolutions against Iran, a country with an abysmal human rights record, you know something is seriously wrong,” wrote Haley.

Back in March, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson had a similar message to the U.N., either reform the Council or we’re out.

This isn’t the first time that the United States has caused waves with the U.N. over the Human Rights Council’s anti-Israel stances. Under George W. Bush, the U.S. boycotted the Council before rejoining under President Obama who wasn’t as concerned about their position.

Despite the fact that the Trump administration was defending a key ally and one of the few nations in the Middle East to defend human rights, liberals pounced on him over the idea of a possible withdrawal, linking it to several conspiracy theories including Russia.
