“Dawson’s Creek” actor James Van Der Beek had some fun on Twitter Wednesday, sending out a series of tweets ‘defending’ – or rather mocking – the sexting New York City Mayoral candidate.
Using the hashtag #InDefenseOfAnthonyWeiner, Van Der Beek came up with some creative ways for why the scandal-ridden ex-Congressman would be repeatedly tweeting pictures of his groin online.
Weiner resigned from Congress in 2011 after admitting to tweeting pictures of his private parts and participating in several lewd conversations with women on the social media site.
On Tuesday, Weiner acknowledged that his inappropriate behavior did not stop after leaving Washington, and that he had been in contact with a woman from Chicago under the pseudonym “Carlos Danger.” With his wife, former Clinton advisor Huma Abedin, by his side, Weiner insisted that he would stay in the race for Mayor.
