Colbert creates ice cream flavors for 2016 candidates [VIDEO]

On Wednesday’s episode of The Late Show with  Stephen Colbert the host celebrated Ben & Jerry’s new Bernie Sanders themed ice cream “Bernie Yearnings” and offered some other candidate themed flavors.

The ice cream was released by Ben Cohen of the dessert franchise, and the limited edition flavor is essential mint chocolate chip with all one percent of chips all at the top of the ice cream.

Cohen, who has an estimated net worth of $150 million, tried to draw a parallel to the wealth disparity in the U.S.

“It’s a clever idea,” Colbert said on the new ice cream flavor. “But I have some news for Ben, in reality that top one percent generally doesn’t have a lot of chocolate in it.”

Colbert also said that the other candidates should equal ice cream time and offered some suggestions for the other candidates running for president.

“We already have ‘Bernie’s Yearning,'” Colbert continued. “Why not ‘Caramel Fiorina’ or ‘Martin O’Mallomar’ or ‘Mike Huckabee’s Life Begins at Confection’ or maybe ‘Hillary’s Whatever Flavor You Want This To Be.'”
