Lucky number 13?

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal jumped into the 2016 presidential race already crowded by 12 Republican candidates with a video announcement on social media Wednesday that was first reported by IJ Review.

The video, which has been published to Jindal’s Facebook page, shows the Louisiana lawmaker and his wife sharing their presidential news with their children.

I had to tell a few people first. But I want you to be next. I’m running for President of the United States of America. Join me: http://www.bobbyjindal.com/announcement/Posted by Bobby Jindal on Wednesday, June 24, 2015

“Mommy and Daddy have been thinking and talking a lot about this and we have decided we are going to be running for president this year,” he informs his kids in the clip.

Jindal also teases a possible trip to early-voting state Iowa — if the kids “behave” — which they remark has good popcorn.

The GOP contender also announced his presidential bid on Twitter, linking to his official campaign website, ahead of a formal speech in the New Orleans area Wednesday afternoon.

The 44-year-old politician faces an uphill battle in the packed field, as the bulk of polls find him trailing the other Republicans.
