Former Olympic figure skater Michelle Kwan lands job with Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton has recruited herself some celebrity help to boost her outreach efforts.

Former figure skater and Olympic medalist Michelle Kwan is working for Clinton’s presidential campaign out of her Brooklyn headquarters, according to a report in the New York Times.

Kwan is particularly spearheading outreach efforts ahead of the former secretary of state’s official campaign launch event Saturday at Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedom Parks in New York.

There, Clinton in her remarks “will lay out her view of the challenges facing this country and her vision and ideas for moving the country,” according to campaign officials.

Kwan expressed her excitement for her new gig on Twitter, describing Clinton as a woman capturing her admiration and respect.

This isn’t the first time that Clinton and Kwan have crossed professional paths. During the time that Clinton was at the State Department, the former Olympic athlete served as United States public diplomacy envoy at the government agency.

Kwan is the latest in a string of celebrities to demonstrate support for the Democratic presidential candidate ahead of 2016. Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Kelly Clarkson, Beyonce, Michael Kelly and George Clooney, among others, have all endorsed Clinton in her presidential run.
