Former professional basketball player Shaquille O’Neal thinks New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is one “very cool” dude.
Shaq’s comment came at a dedication ceremony of a new Boys & Girls Club located in Camden County, New Jersey. Christie spoke before the former NBA star, highlighting how his kids view him because of his friendship with Shaq.
“This is one of the few things that I do as Governor that makes my kids think I’m actually cool,” the New Jersey Republican said on Thursday.
The Governor added that he doesn’t think he’s cool, but he’s glad his kids have that impression of him.
But when Shaq got to the microphone, he agreed with Christie’s kids.
“I do think you’re cool,” the former NBA player said. “Very cool.”
Earlier this year, Shaq and the Governor met at the New Jersey Statehouse to discuss a state gun buyback program. The NBA player was born in New Jersey and co-owns a movie theater in Newark.
