Hamsters crushing tiny burritos is the latest Internet craze

Alternatively titled “An Average Joe’s typical visit to Chipotle,” it’s “Tiny Hamsters Eating (more like crushing) Tiny Burritos — Episode 1.”

Episode 1?

These little guys certainly are a menace to miniature Mexican food, and they’re no phantoms. They’re real.

“We know miniature food is popular online and we wanted to heighten it,” Joel Jensen, co-creator of the visual comedy group behind the video, HelloDenizen, told the New York Daily News. “If we have mini food we should feed it to a mini creature. That would make it fun. And we should add a chef who cares for (the hamster) to heighten the absurdity.”

That “chef” would be actor Farley Elliot, who, despite going through the meticulousness of making legit-looking burritos shorter than the diameter of a poker chip, actually served up burritos full of hamster food. The troupe rotated three trained hamsters for the video, so any one of them wouldn’t get full.

HelloDenizen plans to release more videos featuring hamsters doing things, the Daily News added. So there.
