Kanye on Obama: ‘Don’t try to pit us against each other’

Kanye West and President Obama have a very complicated history — the president once called the rapper a “jackass,” and Kanye has accused him of “using” him for votes — but the two had seemed to have turned a corner recently.

Kanye and his wife, Kim Kardashian, had posted on social media about meeting with the president and talking with him on a regular basis.

But when Obama appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Thursday night, he appeared to refute some of that.

Obama denied claims that he has personally called Kanye’ s house. “I don’t think I’ve got his home number,” the president said on the show.

TMZ caught up with the rapper to ask him who’s telling the truth.

“I love Obama,” West told the gossip site. “He called our house before, he knows that. Don’t try to pit us against each other.”
