Former Libertarian VP candidate: If you can’t run a whorehouse and make a profit, get your damn hands off my healthcare

Nevada, the state where prostitution is legal and gambling is king, should be the model for America, according to former presidential candidate Wayne Allyn Root.

Speaking to a crowd Friday morning at the 2013 Conservative Political Action Conference, Root argued that Nevada has proven itself as a model for success based on how it ran it’s most successful brothel.

Root told the tale of the federal government takeover of Mustang Ranch, the first legal and most successful brothel, after the owner fled to Brazil in order to escape the IRS. Root said that the federal government had run the brothel into the ground in just one year.

“The moral to the story is the entire point of CPAC:  If you can’t run a whorehouse and make a profit, get your damn hands off my healthcare,” Root said.

“I’m proud to be from a state where the state constitution bans income taxes and welcomes guns in the hands of law abiding citizens,” Root said.

According to Root, the difference between Washington, D.C. and Nevada is that the people in Las Vegas gamble with their own money. “Right here in Washington [prostitution] is legal too. You use a fancier name for prostitute. You call them ‘senator’,” said Root.

Root sent out a rally cry that the American people need to file a class action lawsuit against the government for harming the economy. The self-proclaimed S.O.B. (son of a butcher) speculated that President Obama has a “shifts of lawyers coming in 24 hours a day whose goal is to destroy the American economy.”

But for the 2008 Libertarian Vice Presidential nominee, the issue for Republicans doesn’t just lie with taxes and spending. According to Root, the solution to too much government can be solved by passion and term limits.

“I think every politician should be limited to two terms. One term in office and one term in prison,” said the former vice presidential candidate.

Root, who recently accepted the position of executive vice chairman of The Conservative Caucus (TCC), said that the real reason why the GOP can’t win elections is because the party lacks enthusiasm and passion.

“Our job is to fire up the American people and get them excited about conservatism,” Root said.

According to Root, Republicans should not change the conservative message in order to appeal to Hispanics, black Americans or women.

Root said that if the Republican Party cannot get voters fired up about the chance to get rich, then Republicans should change their candidates instead of changing their message.

“If we can’t fire up Americans with the fantastic message we have, then we don’t deserve to win elections,” said Root.
