Meyer: 49% CNN “junk poll” ignored young voters, upsets still possible [VIDEO]

Four states have voted — yet, the media wants the Republican Party and conservatives to unite around nationalist Donald Trump.

Their latest talking point? A CNN/ORC poll that has Donald Trump winning 49 percent of the vote.

The only problem? These numbers are statistically impossible when compared to similar polls from that week: one has Trump at 31 percent, another 36 percent. Not only is claiming Trump magically gained 13-to-18 percent a mathematical fairytale, but the crosstabs of the poll also reveal the way these pollsters cooked the books.

They either under-polled younger voters, or simply left them out altogether.

Check this out:

Yes, you’re seeing that right. Under all of their general crosstabs (which includes both parties), under ages 18-to-34, they list “N/A”. That means one of two things: They didn’t poll these ages, or didn’t have enough responses to register as statistically significant.

And, who polls best among young voters?

Marco Rubio, and to some extent Ted Cruz.

It gets worse for CNN when you look specifically at the Republicans they polled, when they show they didn’t sample enough voters under age 50 to register as statistically significant.

As we’ve reported before, Trump is heavily favored by older voters, and there’s usually a huge age gap in these polls.

In this poll — to make Trump look unstoppable and drive ratings — CNN/ORC only sampled older voters.

Last night on Fox Business’ Making Money with Charles Payne, Red Alert Politics Editor Ron Meyer said:

“There’s this junk poll from CNN that doesn’t poll young people. Young people have been ignored this entire election. We have some data that shows that young people — the youth vote — could pull an upset in Virginia. If you’re looking for a race to be close, look tomorrow. Look to Virginia. Look to my home state…
“The people who poll best among young voters are Rubio and Cruz.”

While an upset may be a stretch, it may not be a stretch for these races to be much closer. Remember, these March 1 states are all proportional, so if the races are close, the candidates receive nearly the same amount of delegates.

Either way, today will prove that CNN needs to fire their pollster — especially if Trump’s Super Tuesday totals are under 40 percent.
