Mary J. Blige might vote for Jay Z in 2016 presidential election

Forget all the music artists endorsing Hillary Clinton for president; Mary J. Blige is ready to back Jay Z.

In a recent interview with Elle magazine, Blige selected Jay Z as the celebrity who would be most fit for the White House.

“I would say Jay Z,” the songstress said when asked to name a Hollywood star who should be president. “People listen to him and follow him. If he spoke, and it was something that could help people, it would have a huge impact. He’s a powerful man. He would be my first vote.”

Undoubtedly, a Jay Z presidency would essentially be an Obama third term, as the rapper and his wife Beyonce are quite friendly with Barack and Michelle Obama.

If Beyonce is going to vie for the title of first lady, she might want to stop attending fundraisers for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

While Blige deemed Jay Z Oval-Office ready, she couldn’t say the same of herself. The R&B recording artist admitted when asked that she wouldn’t — at least “not right now” — ever run for office.
