George Carlin forgot to list “Redskins” as one of the seven dirty words you can’t say on television — or at least MSNBC might think so.
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office decided on Wednesday to cancel six trademarks belonging to the Washington Redskins football team. During a segment on the matter, MSNBC’s Joy Reid refused to speak the “racial slur” and felt the need to warn her audience that the subsequent clip of Senator Harry Reid would use the term.
“He does use the name of the team, so I’m just gonna warn you guys about that in advance,” Joy Reid said, so that those who would be offended (or annoyed) could quickly turn off her show.
