Liberals, Obama campaign still grasping at straw men, waging a ‘War on Women’

Apparently, the “Republican War on Women” is still a thing. I know; I’m confused, too. I thought that, after insulting moms who choose to stay at home, the Right had shown them just how silly this strategy was.

To those paying attention, it seemed that continuing this meme would be pure silliness. It turns out the liberals, and their media buddies, are sillier than we thought. Thus, the so-called “War on Women” remains alive on the left, and looks like they might try to keep it up through the general election.

It was a topic on the Sunday shows this weekend, and the talking points were on full display. On Meet the Press, host David Gregory spoke with Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash.), Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen (who, ironically, does attack women), MSNBC host Rachel Maddow, and Republican strategist Alex Castellanos.

Gregory used another straw man (student loans) to segue awkwardly into the “War on Women.” As one might expect, conservatives tried to keep the conversation on point, while the liberals ran and hid from the facts, preferring to stick to reiterating unsubstantiated talking points.

The panel was ridiculous. The conservative female guest, McMorris Rodgers, rebutted liberal nonsense with facts, the liberal women guests refused to listen, and we went to commercial. The liberals were unwilling to listen to the facts which refuted the agenda they wished to push. Conservatives we were able to gain points in the categories of facts and logic, proving that there is no lens through which the “War on Women” seems like a legitimate story. Unfortunately, the media doesn’t agree and, as per usual, is complicit in pushing the liberal agenda.

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) had it exactly right on CNN’s State of the Union. He said that “the president’s getting some bad advice from his campaign team because he’s diminishing the presidency by picking fake fights, going after straw men every day.”

Obama has been creating fake fights over and over for months now. We had the “War on Women,” Trayvon, Seamus on the roof, student loans, and other issues. Some didn’t exist at all, and some were issues on which both sides agreed.

This president is absolutely desperate to divide the people of this country, and is recycling straw men to do so. In truth, the liberals seem scared. They’re pushing false agendas because Obama isn’t doing well, and Republicans won the women’s vote in 2010. We know that liberals, both in politics and the media, are trying to sell the War on Women. The question is; will the voters be gullible enough to buy?
