Despite all the buzz surrounding the iPhone and its constantly evolving features, Jimmy Kimmel was at it again this week in setting out to prove that most people can’t tell the difference between the old and the new Apple models.
With the release date of the iPhone 5s approaching this month, Kimmel’s crew walked up to people on the street and handed to them what was identified as the new version of the phone. The problem for the unsuspecting bystanders was that it was all a ruse — in reality, the device given to them was a comparatively huge iPad mini.
This didn’t stop his subjects from commenting on the myriad features of the “new iPhone”.
“It seems intense and fun,” one woman commented.
“The graphics probably look a little better,” a man speculated.
Yet another made a stunningly odd comment on the so-called iPhone’s size.
“It looks like it’s a lot smaller,” the person said, wielding the iPad and somehow forgetting that smartphones don’t have the surface area of a paperback book.
Kimmel pushed the envelope even more, as a staffer detailed to one woman the “click it and lick it” faux-feature of the new iPhone. The tasty addition was said to allow a user to push the device’s circle button, and the phone magically would assume the flavor of chocolate, vanilla or strawberry.
Of course, she gave it a whirl and pretended success.
“Whoa, that’s so weird. That’s cool! I like it!”
Apparently, the possibilities are endless for the new iPhone (or the iPad mini), as long as you use your imagination.
