Super Oreo Day

Milk’s favorite cookie, the Oreo, will celebrate its 100th birthday next week on March 6, coinciding with the day every Republican Presidential candidate has been looking to since the cycle began, Super Tuesday.

Kraft Foods, owners of the famous sandwich cookie, have unleashed an ad campaign to rival any Presidential candidate. Besides the traditional print and television ads, Kraft has taken to using new and social media as well. You can follow the Oreo on twitter, “like” it on facebook and submit your favorite Oreo moments on their website (sort of like Newt Gingrich’s brilliant Pets With Newt idea).

The reason for the giant campaign? John Ghingo, senior director for global biscuits, explains, “We want to acknowledge what Oreo has been over the past 100 years and recognize what it means in today’s world.”
