Would you work 24 hours a day with no breaks — for free? That’s what one job interviewer wanted to know as he screened applicants for a director of operations role. But little did the interviewees know, it was all fake.
“It’s not just a job — it’s probably the most important job,” the interviewer told each applicant during online video meetings posted on YouTube.
The interviewer went on to describe how the person selected for the role would work non-stop, and even work more hours on holidays. The director of operations is required to give the associate constant attention and is only allowed to eat lunch after the associate has eaten, the interviewer explained. Many of the interviewees had puzzled looks on their faces as the position was described.
“Uh, I think that’s a little intense,” one interviewee said.
As the interviews went on, the applicants grew more flabbergasted that such a demanding role existed — and even more aghast as the interviewer told them that billions of people already work in this job.
