In what seems to be emerging as a new trend among professional athletes, Anthony Davis of the San Francisco 49ers became the the second in the past two weeks to sell his pet using Twitter.
The NFL player announced via the site Wednesday that he was trying to give his 4-month-old English bulldog away. Thirty minutes later, the puppy had a new owner.
The scenario echoes one that occurred last week when National Basketball Association player Kendrick Perkins sold his English bulldog for $1,500 on the social networking site. Unlike Perkins, though, Davis gave his pup away for free.
